LFD Holding Clothing/Food Drive Sat. for S. of Montauk Residents

The Ladies' Auxilliary of the Lindenhurst Fire Department is spearheading the effort at the main house on South Wellwood Avenue from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The Ladies' Auxilliary of the Lindenhurst Fire Department is holding a clothing/food drive on November 3.

"It'll be from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday," LFD Chief Jim Gallagher told Lindenhurst Patch on Thursday.

"It's for everyone who lost everything South of Montauk Highway because of Hurricane Sandy," he said.

Donations of clothing, school supplies, non-perishable food items and gift cards will be accepted, and will be redistributed to affected residents.

However, no cash will be accepted, the chief noted.

"This is something so we could get people back on their feet," Gallagher said.
