Greenlawn dentist Dr. Margaret Ames has been practicing in the Huntington area for more than 20 years. In her continuing education, she has studied dental treatments which fell in line with her own beliefs regarding the benefits of honoring natural tooth structure. Those treatments are called "Biomimetic Dentistry".

"Bio" comes from the word "Biology" and "Mimetic" comes from the word "Mimic" which means to copy.

Dr. Ames is now hosting a radio program on http://linewsradio.com (WRCN 103.9FM) Saturday mornings at 10:00am Eastern time which will both educate and enlighten you about your mouth. The show is called "Your Dental Health" http://linewsradio.com/ask-dentist/ . In her shows, she will speak to you as well as experts in 21st century dental restorative materials and techniques which will make you think twice about the dental restorations you've had, may need and the ramifications for your children's oral health. She sees patients from Bethpage to Stony Brook as well as others who fly in to Long Island for their dental treatments.

There's no more need for mercury-silver amalgam restorations designed in the 1800's, nor "modern" composite-resin restorations which have an average anticipated life span of 6 years. Biomimetic Dentistry respects natural oral anatomy, prevents bone loss and reduces the need for root canals and crowns by as much as 75%. Caught early enough, gone are the days of root canals, crowns, extractions, bridges and implants.

Tune in Saturdays at 10:00am and learn how to raise the quality of the oral health of you and your family.
