LI Builders Institute Babylon Recovery Expo May 8

The Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI), in conjunction with the Town of Babylon, is sponsoring a free Superstorm Sandy Recovery Expo for homeowners on May 8, from 4-8 p.m., in Copiague. The Expo, which will be held in the cafeteria of Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School, 1100 Dixon Ave., will provide homeowners still rebuilding after Superstorm Sandy with an opportunity to speak to experts on a variety of concerns and to see new products, such as mold-killing paint. Experts at the expo will explain how to deal with mold, construction landscaping, utility, insurance and financing issues, among other concerns. In addition to the new products on display, LIBI, the largest homebuilders organization in New York, will make available copies of its “LIBI’s List—We Are Long Island!” referral guide to ethical, reputable, pre-screened professional contractors and service providers, who are well-versed in municipal building codes and environmental practices. LIBI’s list also is available online at https://libi.org/libis-list “Many Babylon residents impacted by Superstorm Sandy still require some assistance. This expo will allow residents to meet with experts who can help them get their homes—and their lives—back in order,” said Lois Frick, LIBI ‘s director of operations. “Moreover, this Babylon expo will introduce residents to our local contracting community and other service providers in a manner that will strengthen confidence in working relationships and in knowing the best contractors on Long Island are the ones who are on the job.” “The Town of Babylon is proud to join with the Long Island Builders Institute to bring the Sandy Recovery Expo to our area,” said Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer. “This event will provide a wealth of outstanding resources to those who were affected by Superstorm Sandy, whether they’re looking for a specific service or just a little guidance as they continue the rebuilding process. I thank LIBI for their assistance in offering this valuable opportunity to our residents.” For more information call LIBI at (631) 232-2345 or visit www.LIBI.org
