Through the years my three children and two grandchildren have given me much to be proud of and thankful for.
But this afternoon my daughter Jamie, who I mentioned in my , (and who’s not the least bit interested in politics) made me feel very proud and very hopeful that young people today will be not only able to carry on, but make this world a better place.
Her response follows and speaks for itself:
So as you could imagine, there are a lot of people bashing the RNC. People were even wishing that Isaac hit Florida and knock out all those at the convention:
This is what I had to say about it:
For all those people that are complaining that Hurricane Isaac hit New Orleans instead of the RNC: My dad is at the convention. He is not anti-women, anti-education, gay bashing or racist. He is probably the most loving, kind-hearted, well-respected person I have ever known and one of my biggest role models. We may not be on the same page with a lot of issues but he's my dad and I love him. How could someone who claims to be accepting of all people, wish something so evil on a group of people they've never even met? Everyone is going to have different beliefs, that's what makes the world go 'round. What happened to those in the hurricane is horrible and devastated a lot of people. You should NEVER wish harm on someone just because they don't have the same belief system as you do. So, before you make such ignorant posts, put the politics aside and think about who may be affected. That's someone's mom, dad, brother, sister, daughter, son, aunt, uncle, etc.
