Babylon GOP Chairman's 2nd Day at the 2012 National Convention

Babylon GOP Chairman Tony Pancella opines on day two of the Nation Republican Convention in Tampa.

Great day here in Tampa. Breakfast this morning was hosted by Senator Alfonse D'Amato who gave a rousing speech! He sure got the New York delegation stirred up.

Then it was off to Steinbrenner Field where we met Bucky Dent and hit a few baseballs while taking batting practice. Then it was to the convention hall with the people who were easily voted in as our presidential and vice presidential nominees.

Suffolk County Chairman John Jay LaValle and New York Senate candidate Phil Boyle were with me as we discussed this year's historic election with Republicans from NY State and the rest of the country, and one thought was unanimous...we need to make President Obama a one-term President!

The speeches by Ann Romney and Chris Christie were delivered as a perfect one-two punch. Ann Romney's message of love and Governor Christie's message of truth and respect are exactly what the Republican Party needs to convey to this country during these troubling times. Mrs. Romney was sincere and warm, and Governor Christie was passionate, articulate and inspiring.

With the pre-convention polls at a virtual dead heat, this convention should send the Romney campaign to a well-deserved lead.

I look forward to the next two days and the speeches by Romney and Ryan.
