Jan. 9: What's Happening Around Lindenhurst

Kids can enjoy story time at the library today.

At the library, the Ice Cream for Books program is taking place all month. Designed for youngsters Kindergarten to 8th grade, participants should bring their folder to the children’s room weekly for prizes. Readers who make four visits will receive entry into a raffle.

Mother Goose story time for babies and toddlers up to 35 months takes place today at the Lindenhurst Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

At 11 a.m., kids ages two and a half through Pre-K can enjoy winter storytime and a special playtime. No registration is required.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency remains in place at the library from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Assistance for victims of Hurricane Sandy is being provided.
