Thanks for the "Photo of the Day" recognition. We already have a pet rabbit and hope that this one, whom we call "Numero Dos" for the obvious reason, is recognized by its rightful family and finds its way home. My children are rapidly becoming attached to him and I'm a bit worried about the reputation rabbits have!
Barbara Capella Loehr (Editor) October 16, 2012 at 12:39 am
No problem. I hope the owners of the bunny find him/her with you soon!

A little something to let everyone know that you are not alone. This song was written by my husband and we are proud residents of Lindenhurst. This is for our neighbors down South 6th and 7th.

Hi Marie. Thanks for your kind words. Hope you're safe and sound.
Barbara Capella Loehr (Editor) November 7, 2012 at 03:34 pm
Frank, hope by now you've been in touch with your family. If not, then try calling Babylon Town at 631-422-7600 or 631-957-3000, or calling Suffolk County Police First Precinct at 631-854-8100. Perhaps they can give you further info on how to locate your family. Just know that phone service and cell service have been spotty in the area South of Montauk, and much of the power hasn't been restored yet. Hope you find them and that they are well. Stay safe.

Any news from your kids? My family use to live on Beach Prom (beach side) and I can't find any information nor pictures to see if our home (1949-1980's) still stands.

The song your husband wrote was so beautiful. I am also a resident of Lindenhurst my children went to Bower school. May God keep you all safe. Keep the faith, like the song says we're nott alone.

Thank you, thank you! So beautiful, it made me cry. But it does give me hope for the long road ahead.

Barbara & Peggy,
I will post some really good photos from South Bay Street and Shore Rd tomorrow. My husband and I live on South Bay Street and evacuated as others were being rescued by Lindy FD. Also were we back home by row boat at 7:00am the morning after taking many photos from Wellwood Ave to Shore Rd to South Bay Street before the National Guard limited access. I will share those photos as well. Photos do no justice, it was like a scene in a movie. Where shall I post these never before seen photos. Barbara, Please feel free to contact me at my personal email address.

That is a beautiful picture of LMS. This is the most "architecturally" beautiful school on Long Island.
