Fire Island may be the set and locale of a NBC comedy being produced by Tina Fey, of SNL and 30 Rock fame, according to two entertainment media reports.

Fey, along with a 30 Rock co-showrunner and 30 Rock writer-producer, are supposedly developing a female-centric story line that will focus on a woman who reconnects with her father who is living on Fire Island with his family, according to reports at Deadline Hollywood and The Atlantic Wire.

There’s no specific insight on which Fire Island community may be used as the locale, or if actual shooting on the barrier beach is going to take place anytime soon.

The reports describe the show as a “Cheers” character-driven plot.
