Lindy's Dan Lauria Plays Lead in MSG's "A Christmas Story"

Lindenhurst native set to star in musical at Madison Square Garden.

Lindenhurst actor Dan Lauria is once again taking up the reins to lead the cast of "A Christmas Story" at Madison Square Garden this Christmas season.

The Lindenhurst native, best known for his role as Jack Arnold on The Wonder Years, will be playing Jean Shepherd, the narrator, during the musical's 18-day run at the The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

The 66-year-old played the same role during last year's run of the show.

"I'll go out on a limb and say it: I think the play's stronger than the movie. We're so loyal to the script of the movie," Lauria told Newsday in an interview. "Everything is there."

Lauria, who still spends time around Lindenhurst and West Babylon, said he could not wait to bring his 103-year-old and 90-year-old aunts to see this year's show.

Following the musical, Lauria will be headed back out to continue work on "Sullivan and Son," his latest successful television show on TBS Networks.

"A Christmas Story, The Musical" is playing through December 29. Tickets may be purchased at TicketMaster.com, (877) 250-2929, or in person. Visit www.AChristmasStoryTheMusical.com for more information.
