Lindy Schools Budget Passes; Langone, Vitiello, Aniello, McNeilly Elected

Lindenhurst's $145.7 million budget passes with over 65 percent voting in favor.

Lindenhurst voters gave their approval to the Lindenhurst Schools 2013-14 district budget and re-elected Edward Langone and Robert Vitiello to the Board of Education. Linda Aniello and Sean Mc Neilly were also elected as new trustees to the board.

2,008 Lindenhurst residents voted "yes," or roughly 65.1 percent, against the 1,074 "no" votes for the district's $145.7 million budget.

Incumbent Board of Education members Edward Langone and Robert Vitiello were re-elected to their seats.

Lagnone received 1,517 votes, while his opponent Sarmiento received 1,218 votes. Vitiello, running opposed, took in 1,823 votes.

Joining the incumbents will be Linda Aniello and Sean McNeilly, who beat out Linda Elsen, Robert Voyles and incumbent Richard Koehler for the final seat. 

Aniello had 1,145 votes in her favor while Voyles received 822 and Eisen received 583. The three were running for the seat of Raymond Doran, who did not seek re-elected.

McNeilly received 1,463 votes while Koehler finished closely with 1,296.
