Multiple Car Collision Shuts Down N. Wellwood Ave.

A multiple car collision has closed down N. Wellwood Ave. at New York Ave. on Saturday morning.

Police on the scene did not say what caused the accident, but a black Nissan appeared to be crushed from the right side and in the opposing lanes. Two other non-emergency vehicles were also stopped nearby and appeared to be involved.

The accident has shut down Wellwood Avenue at New York Ave., causing delays on side streets nearby including N. 4th St., N. 5th St. and Newark Street. Alternative routes are suggested.

There appeared to be no serious injuries associated with the accident, as no ambulances were called to the scene.

The Lindenhurst Fire Department and the Suffolk County Police Department are currently on the scene Clearing the accident.
