CVS Building Put on the Open Market

Longtime pharmacy building hits the market as signs of a move are imminent.

The building housing the Lindenhurst CVS has been put on the open market for rent as it seems the pharmacy is getting ready to move to a proposed location on Montauk Highway.

The storefront at 150 South Wellwood Avenue had a "for lease" sign affixed to it over the weekend, making the first public notice that the long-time occupant would be moving.

Winick Retail Specialists is in charge of the newly available spot up for lease in the village, which has been on the market since July according to their website.

The building, according to their website, would be ready for possession in January 2014.

The 11,074 square foot building includes a 10,000 square foot basement and 40 car parking lot on the property. 150 feet of the building faces the main business district stretch of South Wellwood Avenue.

The listing on Winick's website did not give a suggested rent, stating it would be available only "upon request," but noted taxes on the property alone were $80,000 a year.

The listing also notes the space is the largest retail store in downtown Lindenhurst at the moment.

CVS announced plans last year to move into a space on the corner of South Wellwood Avenue and Montauk Highway, where the old movie theater was housed in the 1990's. There have no further words on the progress on that situation.
