Craftwork Created by Lindy Seniors to Donate to Vets, Hospitals Displayed at LML

Knitted and crocheted blankets and hats made by local senior citizens at the quilting class at the Rainbow Center are currently on display at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library.

The creative craft display in the lobby of the LML represents the on-going craftwork that's produced at the Center and donated their craftwork to veterans organizations and hospitals, and other various agencies.

"In 2012 these talented seniors enabled the Rainbow Center to donate more than 1,000 items to local service agencies such as hospitals, religious outreaches, County service agencies and the veterans' hospital," according to information posted with the display.

The group - which meets every Monday at the Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and led by instructor Mary Ellen Ramsom - is able to create this work with the donations of yarn, wool and material.

Those interested are invited to join, and donations of yarn, wool and craft material are always welcome.

For more information call the Center at 631-957-7526.
