Photo: Kiwanis Tree Snaps

Hurricane Sandy has claimed the large tree near Broadway, DeKalb and Wellwood Avenues.

The well-known Kiwanis tree near Broadway, DeKalb and Wellwood Avenues in Lindenhurst has snapped.

The tree is part of Walter R Gayer Memorial Park. The Kiwanis tree is known for being lit up and decorated during the winter season with a bright K atop the tree.
