Babylon Town Hall, Libraries Accepting Toys for Tots Donations

More locations helping the cause to give needy children a happy holiday season.

The Town of Babylon and several local libraries will be accepting donations towards the Toys for Tots program through December 18.

The Town Hall, located on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst, will accepted new toys, books and games as part of the annual Toys for Tots program through mid-December. New items may be placed in the collection box located in the front lobby of the building.

The Babylon, Lindenhurst and West Babylon Public Libraries will also be serving as drop-off locations for donations with big boxes dedicated to holding new toys.

The Toys for Tots program is run through the United States Marines. The annual holiday drive collects toys and gifts to give to children up to age 12 in most communities and 14 to 16 in other areas.

The program suggests local good samaritans donate a toy they think would be appropriate for a child or relative in their family – there are no items too small or too big for donation.

Collection coordinators do ask that any authentic-looking weapons not be donated to the program – they will not be distributed in the event they are donated.
