Former Lindenhurst Mayor’s Brother Dies at 85

Herbert J. Mathison
Mathison, formerly of Lindenhurst, passed away on July 1. He was 85.

He’s survived by his wife, Mary, children Gail (Jerry) Tuohey and Robert (Kathy) Mathison.

He’s also survived by his sister Margaret Kingsland, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of , former Lindenhurst mayor who passed away earlier this year.

Visitation was held on July 5. Funeral services were conducted on July 6 at the Lindenhurst Funeral Home. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Lindenhurst Funeral Home.
