Two Vets, American Legion Member Pass Away

Here's a look at who recently died in the Lindenhurst community.

Recent deaths in Lindenhurst include the following:

Joseph Imbasciani
Imbasciani, of Lindenhurst, died on August 16. He was 87.

He’s survived by his daughters Joanne Millsaps and Lori Schiavo. He’s also survived by his brother Frank, plus four grandchildren.

Imbasciani served in the United States Marine Corps. He was also a retired carpenter for the New York City Transit Authority.

Religious services were conducted on August 17. Cremation was private.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

James Rienecker
Rienecker, of Lindenhurst, died on August 11. He was 48.

He’s survived by his wife, Janet, and children, Mathew and Christopher. He’s also survived by his brothers Michael and Richard.

Religious services were conducted on August 13. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 14 at Our Lady of Grace Church. Interment followed at Breslau Cemetery.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Emilio “Joe” Ayala
Ayala, of Lindenhurst, passed away on August 7. He was 67.

He’s survived by his wife, Margaret, as well as his children Joseph and Tonya. In addition, he’s survived by his siblings Lillian Miranda, Raymond and Gladys Borjas, plus two grandchildren.

A memorial visitation was held on August 18 at Lindenhurst Funeral Home. A memorial Mass followed at .

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Assunta Caropreso
Caropreso, of Lindenhurst, passed away on August 6. She was 86.

She’s survived by her daughters, Angela Larsen and Joann Corrao. She’s also survived by four grandchildren.

Religious services were conducted on August 9. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 10 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment followed at Saint Charles Cemetery.

Her funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Joan Forster
Forster, of Lindenhurst, died on August 1. She was 82.

She’s is survived by her sons William, Thomas and Michael. She’s also survived by her sister, Mary Kuck, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Forster was a beloved member of the American Legion Post 1120, and will be missed, according to the Post.

Religious services were conducted on August 5. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 6 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment followed at Long Island National Cemetery.

Her funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

John Beal
Beal, of Lindenhurst, passed away on August 1. He was 39.

He’s survived by his parents John and Grace. He’s survived by his siblings, Kim Sanders, Erica Biel and David.

Religious services were conducted on August 5. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 6 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Cremation was private.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Patrick M. Brady
Brady, of Lindenhurst, died on July 28.

He was the beloved father of Dylan, loving son of Veronica, dear son of George and cherished brother of George (Laurie) and Patricia (Phil) Piarulli.

He was also the adored uncle of Meghan, Christopher, Kaitlin, Michael, Nicholas and Kaela. In addition, he’s also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brady loved to be with his family, to have fun and make everyone laugh, according to the family, which noted he was generous, kind, good-hearted, lived life to the fullest and made everyone smile.

He was an avid fan of the Jets. He also enjoyed fishing, the beach and get-togethers with his family.

He was a wiz with electronics, carpentry and electrical work, his family said. He was retired from Local Number One, International Union of Elevator Contractors.

“God took him home and left our hearts broken, though so many memories of him will fill our hearts forever. We’ll all miss his great hugs and smiles,” his family said.

Religious services were conducted on August 2. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 3 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment followed at Saint Charles Cemetery.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Angelina Romann
Romann, of Lindenhurst, died on July 25. She was 48.

She’s survived by her sons Michael and Paul. She’s also survived by her granddaughter, Morgan.

Religious services were conducted on July 30. A burial liturgy was held on July 31. Interment followed at Breslau Cemetery.

Her funeral arrangements were the care and direction of Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Joseph Cusimano, Jr.
Cusimano, of Lindenhurst, passed away on July 23.

He was the beloved husband of Kathryn, loving father of Joseph (Tracey) and Denise Casey (Kenneth), caring brother of Marion, Marie, Lonnie, Cindy, Rudy and Mickey, plus the late Barbara and the late Rosalie.

He was also the cherished grandfather of Kenneth, Veronica, Kyle, Cassidy, Sean, Mackayla and Nicole.

Cusimano served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1973 during the Vietnam War. He was a retired tree surgeon for the City of New York, Department of Parks.

Religious services were conducted on August 2. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 3 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.
