Four armed men forced their way into a Lindenhurst home Wednesday night and struck a resident in the head with a bat during a , Suffolk County Police said.
Police said a female resident at 511 North Railroad Avenue answered a knock at the door around 9:55 p.m. on August 10. The four men, unknown to the woman, were armed with a handgun, baseball bat and a pipe.
The men entered the home and hit the woman in the head with the bat, the SCPD said. The men demanded money, in Spanish, and engaged in a struggle with another resident at the home.
The suspects, who were wearing dark clothing and masks, fled without any proceeds, police said.
The female victim was transported to in West Islip for treatment of a head injury. No other injuries were reported.
