Car Accident on Hoffman Ave. Injures Two Monday Night

Police say one man was transported to Good Sam while a second who was injured refused transport.

A two-vehicle crash at West Hoffman Avenue and North Eighth Street on Monday night sent one man to the hospital.

According to Suffolk Police, the 29-year-old male driver of a red 2000 Mitsubishi was traveling eastbound on Hoffman Avenue at about at 5:30 p.m.

He stopped at a stop sign, and then proceeded forward and struck a silver 2012 Toyota driven by a 49-year-old man, police said.

The Toyota was traveling north on North Eighth Street, Suffolk Police added.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was transported by the Lindenhurst Fire Department Rescue Squad to Good Samaritan for abdominal pain, the SCPD noted.

The driver of the Toyota suffered back pain, and stated he would self-transport for treatment, the SCPD added.
