Cops Investigate Armed Robbery at Lindy's Happy Times Tobacco

Suffolk Police say two men allegedly robbed the store on Sunrise Highway at gunpoint on Thursday night.

Suffolk Police are investigating an armed robbery that sparked a search in Lindenhurst in and around Sunrise Highway on Thursday night.

Police told Lindenhurst Patch in an e-mail on Friday two unknown men allegedly walked into Happy Times Tobacco - located at 130 Sunrise Highway on the border of the Village of Lindenhurst - at 8:07 p.m. with hand guns and demanded cash.

They purportedly fled with cash, and there was no arrest, police officials said, despite a search of the area by police involving a SCPD helicopter several residents on Facebook reported seeing over Lindenhurst last night.

Police are asking anyone with information about the January 17 robbery to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
