Cops: Two Lindy Men Stole from Mall's Clothing Donation Bin

Four men caught outside of Sunrise Mall by police after a traffic stop.

Nassau County Police Officers placed four men, including two from Lindenhurst, under arrest on Tuesday morning after they were caught allegedly stealing from a clothes donation bin at the Westfield Sunrise Mall in Massapequa.

Police said Seventh Precinct officers saw the group take clothing out of the bin and place it into a Dodge van before attempting to leave.

Officers made a traffic stop soon after as they left the lot in the van. The police recovered the clothing and confiscated flashlights used by two of the men during the stop before arresting them.

Josue Rivera, 18, and Edenilson Rivera, 18, of Lindenhurst, were arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree. Two other men – Juan Zarzuela, 19, of Amityville, and Julio Cesar-Erazo-Gonzalez, 23 – were also charged with the same crime.

Police also charged Josue Rivera and Zarzuela with possession of burglar tools.

The group were scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
