Update: Lindenhurst Man Charged with DWI Following Crash

Police say Nicholas Roy, 24, who allegedly caused the collision that sent three to Good Sam, is set to be arraigned later today.

A Lindenhurst man has been arrested and charged with DWI following an accident involving two vehicles on East Montauk Highway early Friday morning, Suffolk Police said.

According to the SCPD, Nicholas Roy, 24, was driving a 2007 Chrysler 300 at 1:05 a.m. when it collided with another vehicle driven by Patricia Dunn, 52.

Roy was traveling Westbound on Montauk Highway when he allegedly “crossed over double yellow line into oncoming traffic, causing the collision,” Inspector Gerard Gigante, commanding officer of the First Precinct told Lindenhurst Patch in an e-mail.

Dunn and her two daughters who were also in the vehicle - Samantha, 17 and Sara, 19 - were injured in the crash that took place at Wyona Avenue and Montauk Highway, police said.

’s Rescue Squad treated them “for non-life threatening injuries,” Gigante said, and transported them to in West Islip.

Roy is set to be arraigned later today at First District Court in Central Islip, Suffolk Police noted.
