A North Lindenhurst bank was robbed Thursday afternoon, police said.

According to police, a bald unshaven white male entered the Citibank, located at 120 Sunrise Highway, at about 3 p.m., and passed a note to a teller demanding cash.

The teller complied with the robber’s demand and handed the man an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The robber, who was wearing a red shirt and grey sweatpants, fled on foot northbound on Fulton Street, police said.

There have been several bank robberies in the area recently in which a similar description of the suspect has been been released by police. However, when asked Thursday if detectives believe the same man is behind the North Lindenhurst robbery, a police spokesperson said only, "Everything is still under investigation."

Since this has been going on for a few weeks, the police should station a undercover police officer at every bank in the surrounding towns. So far there has been crimes in deerpark, commack, farmingdale and Lindenhurst. What town will be next?

Why aren't the banks giving him an exploding dye pack? These banks are so dumb.

Banks have become too "friendly". There used to be safety glass separating tellers from clients. Some countries even have panic walls that drop and protect tellers while trapping the thief in the process. And whet ever happened to armed guards? We live in a world of "Here, take it, it's insured." SMH
