Police: Copiague Man Drove Drunk With Teenage Daughter in Car

Juan Orellana-Lombalda, 38, is arrested early Tuesday, police say.

A Copiague man faces a felony DWI charge after he drove drunk with his 14-year-old daughter in his car early Tuesday morning, police said. 

According to police, Juan Orellana-Lombalda, 38, was driving a 2001 Lexus southbound on New Highway, near Poplar Street, in North Amityville, when he was stopped by First Precinct officer William Madden for a broken headlight at about 1:35 a.m. 

Orellana-Lombalda was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI with a child passenger 15-years-old or younger, a felony under Leandra’s Law, police said.

Orellana-Lombalda was also issued five citations for vehicle and traffic law violations.

Orellana-Lombalda was held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
