Police have released the identity of the man who was struck and killed by a car on W. Hoffman Avenue Thursday evening.
Xu Jingeng, 48, was attempting to cross W. Hoffman between S. Broadway and S. 4th Street around 6:30 p.m.when he was struck by a Lexus heading westbound, police said.
Jingeng, who lived at 94 W. Hoffman Ave., right across the train tracks from where he was struck, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Lexus, Agnieszka Chelchowski, 34, of Lindenhurst, was not injured.
The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
