Police: Lindenhurst Man Faces DWI Charge in Overnight Crash

A Lindenhurst man is charged with DWI after he crashed his pickup truck into a tree in Copiague early Sunday morning, police said. 

Jeremy Jones, 23, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet northbound on Hawkins Boulevard at Brookside Court when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree around 3:45 a.m., police said. 

Jones, who was ejected from the vehicle, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with multiple injuries including broken bones and facial injuries.

Jones will be arraigned at a later date on the DWI charge. 

The pickup was impounded for a safety check and detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not been interviewed to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
