Suffolk DA: Lindenhurst Bank Robber Found Guilty

Steven A. Sebastopoli, who police linked to robberies in Lindy, West Babylon and Copiague last year, faces a maximum of three and one-half to 15 years, according to the SCDA's office.

A Lindenhurst man Suffolk Police has now been found guilty, according to the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota.

was arrested last year after allegedly robbing banks in Lindenhurst, West Babylon and Copiague, and was apprehended following the robbery of the TD Bank at 701 Montauk Highway in West Babylon, police said.

On Tuesday he was found guilty of three counts of robbery in the third degree and one count of attempted robbery in the third degree, SCDA spokeperson Robert Clifford said.

Sebastopoli, 54, was charged with robbing the TD Bank, the at 151 East Sunrise Highway in North Lindenhurst and the Chase Bank at 595 Sunrise Highway, also in West Babylon, Clifford said.

At the same time he was also charged with the attempted robbery of the Polish Slavic Federal Credit Union, 314 Great Neck Road in Copiague, Clifford added.

According to SCDA Spota, Sebastopoli faces a maximum of three and one-half to 15 years, and the length of the time will be determined when he's sentenced on May 24.
