WATCH: Man Steals Children's Hospital Donation Jar From Lindenhurst Store

Donation jar is stolen from Flag Beverage Saturday afternoon.

A donation jar to support Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital was stolen from Lindenhurst's Flag Beverage Saturday afternoon, according to a message on the store's Facebook page

The video surveillance footage above shows a man snatching the jar off the front counter at 3:27 p.m. before placing it under his sweatshirt and leaving the store, which is located on W. Hoffman Avenue.

The man told a Flag employee that his name was Tom and he fled in a white Ford van, according to the Facebook message.

The owner of Flag set up the donation jar for the children's hospital, which he said "saved my son's life."

Last month, a 20-year-old Lindenhurst man was arrested after police say he stole a donation jar for leukemia research from a Lindenhurst 7-Eleven.
