Woman Hits Parked Car, Flips Car at Fireman's Park

Police say the young woman was distracted when she flipped her car in front of Fireman's Park on Thursday.

A young woman flipped her car in front of a home on Irmisch Avenue in Lindenhurst on Thursday morning after first hitting a parked car.

Suffolk Police said the 20-year-old woman was distracted as she was driving near Fireman's Park.

"She was driving on Hartford Street when she was distracted by something that dropped on the car floor," Sgt. David Teufel with the SCPD's First Precinct told Lindenhurst Patch.

"She hit a parked car, and then flipped her car," he continued.

The woman sustained minor injuries, and was transported to the hospital, police said.

According to one eyewitness, she self-extricated from her black Ford SUV prior to the Lindenhurst Fire Department's arrival.

The LFD was able to flip the car upright at the scene.

Police noted the woman was the only person in her car, and there was no one in the parked car.

Hi Lindy Native. Thanks for posting these photos. But could you e-mail me at barbara.loehr@patch.comRead More with the originals and some more details? The photos you posted are really blurry/bitmapped. I think if you send the originals and some more info, then a story could be put together for the news section of the site. Thanks!
