Donations Needed at Babylon Town Food Pantry

Non-perishable food items could be dropped off in locations in Lindenhurst, North Babylon and Babylon Village.

The Babylon Food Pantry is in urgent need of donations.

"In these tough economic times more and more families in our community are having difficulty making ends meet," said officials in a press release on the Town's website.

"Please help put food on their table," they urged.

Donations of non-perishable foods could be brought to the following locations:

Town Council Office

200 East Sunrise Highway
Lindenhurst

Department of Human Services

281 Phelps Lane
Room 12
North Babylon


47 West Main Street
Suite Three
Babylon Village

Food items needed include:

  • Pasta (one to two pounds)
  • Pasta/Rice Dinners (Rice-a-Roni, Uncle Ben's)
  • Brown Rice (one- to two-pound bags)
  • Spaghetti Sauce (15 to 28 ounces)
  • SpaghettiOs
  • Canned Meat (potted meat, Vienna sausages, Spam)
  • Canned Tuna and Salmon
  • Canned Turkey and Chicken Breast
  • Canned Fruit, Applesauce (15 to 23 ounces)
  • Bottled Water (15 to 20 ounces)
  • Canned and Bottled Juices
  • Juice Boxes
  • Cereal and Oatmeal
  • Toiletries (deodorant, toothpaste, soap, feminine products, etc.)
  • Canned Vegetables (15 to 24 ounces)
  • Canned Soup (15 to 24 ounces)
  • Canned Beans (red, black, vegetarian, pork-and-beans, 15 to 24 ounces)
  • Corn Muffin Mix
  • Macaroni and Cheese
  • Toilet Paper and Paper Towels
  • Baby Food (formula, cereal, juice)
  • Diapers and Training Underpants (all sizes)

What age group are these homemakers? My mom just recently moved into my house in Lindenhurst and IRead More would love for her to keep busy, make friends and enjoy herself. she is not very crafty, but would like to get involved in other things if available.
