Update: FEMA Is at Lindenhurst Memorial Library Tues.

Update, 12:55 p.m., November 6: Village Mayor Tom Brennan, who just spoke with Patch, said he believes FEMA will be at the library for a couple of days.

Representatives from FEMA are at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library today.

Lindenhurst residents living South of Montauk Highway impacted by Hurricane Sandy can come down to the LML at One Lee Avenue to talk with reps face to face and register for FEMA disaster aid.

According to LML Director Peter Ward, several representatives are set up in the large community room downstairs at the library.

"You can file a claim with them," Ward told Lindenhurst Patch on Tuesday morning. He wasn't sure how long they would be there at the library, but he did say probably a few days.

In addition community relations represenatives from the Town of Babylon will also be at the LML today, Ward said.

For those residents severely impacted and homeless as a result of Sandy and seeking to speak with FEMA and Babylon Town reps, the library will also be providing coffee and cake.

"We also have charging stations set up, Internet access and the news for residents," Ward said.

The LML extended its hours this past weekend to help residents without some place to go to warm up and charge their electronics, but when asked if the library will extend hours again this coming weekend, Ward was unsure.

"We're playing it by ear right now," he said.

The LML is also asking to help share this message with friends and neighbors who are without power or Internet service.
