Heidi Klum Coming to Lindenhurst Village Tree Lighting on Sunday

Klum will join Patch at the Village's Tree Lighting Ceremony in handing out gifts to Lindenhurst children.

Supemodel Heidi Klum is coming to the Village of Lindenhurst's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Parade, set for this Sunday, December 2.

Klum - a former Victoria's Secret model and the current host of Project Runway - will be joining Patch at this year's Tree Lighting Ceremony.

She'll join Patch employees in handing out gifts to children in Lindenhurst, which was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy a month ago.

The Tree Lighting is set to take place at approximately 5:15 p.m. at Monument Plaza at Hoffman Avenue following the Parade, which will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Shore Road Park this year.

Before Klum heads to Lindenhurst, she will lend her efforts to affected victims and families of Sandy by distributing relief packages elsewhere on Long Island in partnership with the American Red Cross, Patch and AOL.

See the links below for more details of Sunday's holiday festivities in the Village, and be sure to share your photos of this event by uploading them here - yours could be the next Lindenhurst Resident Photo of the Day!

Maybe Pat Benatar who graduated from Lindy High would have been a good choice.

I think it's great that she is coming to lend her support.
And wouldn't it be great if we could also get her to post her support for Lindenhurst and the Darius Rucker $10,000 Holiday Toy Drop on her Facebook/Twitter accounts. Lindenhurst is still in first place, but the contest doesn't end until December 10th. Votelindy.com and enter your vote. With all that our children have been through thanks to Hurricane Sandy, $10,000 worth of toys delivered by Darius Rucker (Hootie & the Blowfish) would be a nice holiday present. http://eventful.com/competitions/dariusrucker2012

Will she have enough for all the kids. And where is she giving out the toys I hate to bring my son there and there are none left. And how does she know if the kids are from lindy.

Angela, I hope your son got one of the gifts because not many did. Most kids left crying. I wonder if her paparazzi got pictures of that? Bad idea....

I agree my children didn't get any toys we are from Lindenhurst and are displaced from our home I'm sure there were many people not from Lindenhurst there. My son was heart broken. He asks me everyday when his house will be fixed and I thought this would put a smile on his face instead he and my daughter left in tears.

No he did not he was upset! Like many of the kids!
angela Vanleuvan December 4, 2012 at 05:34 pm
I felt the same way sheiks but it only made thing worse!

The sad part was that according to this article "She'll join Patch employees in handing out gifts to children in Lindenhurst, which was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy a month ago." WHY the parents of children UNAFFECTED allowed their children to take toys from those without is disgusting and shameful! Greed and being self serving is not a trait to teach!
