Mayor Brennan Elected to County's Village Officials Board

Mayor will assume the role as the organization's secretary/treasurer.

Lindenhurst Mayor Tom Brennan was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Suffolk County Village Officials Association.

Brennan will serve as the board's Secretary and Treasurer.

"This will afford the Village of Lindenhurst a greater voice on important issues that that face our residents on the State and Federal levels of government," the mayor said in a statement.

According to a release, his new position will allow him to advocate for new matters including unfunded mandate relief for the village.

"Unfunded mandates have a negative impact on the Village’s budget year in and year out. Fighting for relief on skyrocketing costs such as pension and health care obligations will be a priority during my tenure on the SCVOA Board," he continued in his statement."

The Suffolk County Village Officials Association (SCVOA) is a not-for-profit organization consisting of 33 incorporated villages and representing more than 125,000 Suffolk County village residents.
