Rep. Peter King Remembers Ed Koch
The Congressman remembers the former New York City mayor a 'friend' and 'advisor.'
Congressman Peter King (R, Seaford) remembered former New York City Mayor Ed Koch as "friend" and trusted "advisor."
The three-term former mayor died early Friday morning of congestive heart failure. He was 88.
"I'm terribly saddened by the passing of Mayor Ed Koch," King said in a statement. "Ed Koch was a true friend and trusted advisor."

The Congressman concluded by saying Koch, "personified the spirit of New York. New York’s Mayor for Life is now New York’s Mayor for eternity. May he rest in peace."
King was an admirer of Koch, a Democrat, and was one of those who was in attendance when the city renamed the 59th Street Bridge for the former mayor.

They also joined in endorsing Republican Representative Bob Turner of Queens when he won a special election to replace Representative Anthony Weiner.
