Village Plans Road Resurfacing This Fall

Village roadways will have a fresh surface after new measure passed.

The Village of Lindenhurst will be giving some roadways throughout our area a fresh surface this Fall.

The village board approved a measure approving recommendations made by the deputy administrator and highway foreman for the village that listed 10 streets that were in need of micro-resurfacing.

The roadways, as listed by the village, are:

  • South Greene Avenue from Montauk Highway to Nevada Street
  • South Fulton Avenue from Nevada Street to the Dead-end
  • Nevada Street from South Delaware Avenue to the Dead-end
  • South Hamilton Avenue from Nevada Street to Houston Street
  • Houston Street from South Hamilton Avenue to the Dead-end
  • Idaho Street from South Hamilton Avenue to the Dead-end
  • Kansas Street from South Hamilton Avenue to the Dead-end
  • Texas Street from South Delaware Avenue to the Dead-end
  • Beacon Avenue from Texas Street to Herbert Avenue
  • Houston Street from Beacon Avenue to South Delaware Avenue
The village did not have an exact time frame on when the roadways would be worked on, but village administrator Shawn Cullinane told Patch the work would be completed throughout the Fall season.

The roadway is being paid for by funds from the New York State Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (C.H.I.P.S.).
