Remembering Irene One Year Later

Here's a look back at the hurricane turned tropical storm and its aftermath. Lindenhurst, how were you affected by Irene?

What a difference a year makes! One year ago today Hurricane turned Tropical Storm hit Lindenhurst hard.

The storm the community, tearing away at the Lindy Docks (Charles J. Cowan Marina), taking out leaving of without , downing , flooding homes South of Montauk Highway.

A year later , and the damage sustained within the Village and North Lindy is all but a faint memory.

I actually want to THANK Irene! I went from Queens to Maine the day after, and there was no traffic! We were in Maine in 4 hours!!!
