Alleghany Elementary Students Learn The Importance of Kindness

In "The Circle of Kindness," students learned that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Students at Alleghany Avenue Elemtentary School recently took part in an assembly called "The Kindness Campaign," which teaches students the importance of small acts of kindness in daily life.

The assembly was created by social worker Florri Krefsky and included a video focusing on how acts of kindness can make someone feel good.

As part of the program, students sand along to a song called "One Day" and toured the school's "Garden of Kindness," where students who show acts of kindness create a flower, which is then displayed in the all-purpose room.

The assembly is aimed at promoting bullying prevention.

“We are sharing and teaching bully prevention and harassment in a positive way,” said Krefsky. “Bullying is a learned behavior and can be replaced with learning kindness.”
