Chapter, Marion Are the ‘Pride of Lindenhurst’

Laura Chapter and Mary Marion received Pride of Lindenhurst Awards at the most recent Board of Education meeting.

Every year at the June Community Forum, special awards are presented to deserving faculty and administrators in honor of their service to the , according to school officials.

Among those are the Pride of Lindenhurst Awards.

Lindy Pride
, outgoing president of the , received a Pride of Lindenhurst Award from the Council at the  Lindenhurst Board of Education  at the .

"This award is given for all she's done for Lindenhurst schools, her involvement in , her work as the president of the Council of PTAs, as president of the PTA, her work in Pack 383 and for her part in helping to raise $20,000 in scholarship funds for Lindenhurst High School students, all while being a working wife and mother of three," said Ed Murphy, Jr., BOE president.

Dedicated Teacher
Mary Marion, kindergarten teacher at , received a Pride of Lindenhurst Award at the meeting, too.

"This employee award is given to her for her dedication to the district for more than 30 years, for her creativity and support she's given to her students through the years, for her continuing to strive for excellence for herself and her students," BOE Trustee and Council Recording Secretary Julie Bartolomeo.

At Graduation
A third Pride of Lindenhurst Award will be given to a at the LHS graduation ceremony on Friday, , at 6:30 p.m., at the LMS field.
