Christopher Gitz Named New Lindenhurst High Principal

Gitz had been an assistant principal in Smithtown.

Lindenhurst High School has a new leader.

Dr. Christopher Gitz took over as principal of the school on July 1, replacing Daniel Giordano, who is now the district's superintendent.

Gitz comes to Lindenhurst by way of the Smithtown Central School District, where he served as assistant principal of Smithtown High School West. Prior to that, he was K-12 supervisor of mathematics in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District and assistant principal of High School East in the Half Hollow Hills Central School District.

When not at work, Gitz can be found playing and coaching the various sports of his three children. He also enjoys working out in the yard with his children.

District officials say they are confident that Gitz will be an attribute in his new role and wish him the best of luck.
