The is set to receive $40,000 in New York State Senate funding, thanks to
Superintendent Richard Nathan made the announcement at the Lindenhurst Board of Education end-of-year on .
"We got a call from 's office asking us to write a letter to his office about what we need money for, and so we did. We were just notified that we're receiving $40,000, thanks to the senator and his office," Nathan said.
This is money that's not a grant but has instead been put into the NYS 2012-13 budget as bullet funding, which Nathan said is easier for a district to get.
"This money will be used to help defray the cost for new sixth-grade computers," Nathan explained, reminding the attendees at Wednesday's meeting that the district the computer curriculum by a quarter during this year's .
"Those computers are quite old, and this money will money will help refit one computer lab," he said.
