Lindenhurst Teachers Readied in Interactive Workshops

Summer workshops helped teachers prepare for new classroom materials.

This summer, Lindenhurst School District administrators spent time training staff with hands-on interactive workshops.

The Education 21 Academy offers an opportunity to participate in a three-year program through which educators explore and become experts in five areas of instruction: Teaching for Understanding, Understanding by Design, Differentiation, Inquiry/Constructionism and Embedded Social Emotional Learning Strategies.

As participants in the academy, staff focused on refining teaching skills that are aligned to 21st-century learning. Skills focused on critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. Staff also had the opportunity to learn how to effectively use technology to foster skills.
