Lindy BOE Candidates Debut at PTA Council Meeting

Two Lindenhurst Board of Education 2012 candidates speak at the PTA Council's annual Meet the Candidate Night at Harding Avenue Elementary School.

Two of three candidates for the Lindenhurst Board of Education met the public this week at a meeting.

At the same meeting a powerpoint presentation of the board’s proposed budget was presented to voters, parents and residents in attendance by Superintendent Richard Nathan.

This was one of the first in the superintendent's annual budget presentations to the community at various venues. Information could be found on the district's website.

The Candidates Speak
and introduced themselves with brief comments at a public meeting held at on , and Nathan spoke at length about the , which features a .

, , did not attend the night meeting, due to "personal matters," according to Superintendent Nathan. She's running for her third term on the board.

and - both completing their first three-year term on the school board - detailed their experience as residents of the district whose children had gone through the school system.

Asked by the board what would be the one thing they might like to see change for the , Ames said she’d like to see “ from the amount we have to spend.”

Cunningham said she’d like to see the district “maintain the level of excellence in education provided to our children.”

All three incumbents are running unopposed this year.

What age group are these homemakers? My mom just recently moved into my house in Lindenhurst and IRead More would love for her to keep busy, make friends and enjoy herself. she is not very crafty, but would like to get involved in other things if available.
