Lindy DECA Club Students Win Big at Regional Competition

Lindenhurst High School students in Distributed Education Clubs of America won 11 county championships and four honorable mentions at this year’s regional competition at Suffolk Community College. 

DECA’s mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

Congratulations to the following winning students: Fiorella Atoche – Human Resources Management; Vanessa Cardino – Sports and Entertainment Marketing; David Cheng – Business Finance; Nicholas Drenkalo – Sales Demonstration; Ryan Frank – Principles of Finance; Sean Greenhalgh – Principles of Finance; Christian Lowe – Business Finance; Jamie Marcello – Public Service Visual Advertising (billboard ad); Brendan McIntosh – Wholesale Selling; Dylan Parker – Basic Marketing; and Maria Roman – Job Interview (entry level).

Congratulations to those students earning honorable mention recognition: Cameron Carbone – Sports and Entertainment Marketing (team); Christina Cardino – Apparel and Accessories Marketing; Jackie Comerford – Principles of Marketing; and Erick Ruckert – Sports and Entertainment Marketing (team).

“These students truly deserve recognition for their tremendous efforts,” said teacher Kevin Cullen. “They are the business leaders of the future.”
