Our Lady of Perpetual Help School recently remembered the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001 with a special memorial prayer service led by school principal Carmela Lubrano and the student council.
According to school officials, it was not only to mark the tragic events of that clear September day a decade ago and those who lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and in the fields of Pennsylvania, but to also remember the children and all those affected by 9/11.
“Everyone was affected by the tragedy of 9/11, but none more so than the children who grew up in the 10 years since that history-changing day,” school officials noted in a release about the recent prayer service.
The short memorial service included prayers as well as a moment of silence for the surviving families.
The students then proceeded to the OLPH Church for a mass in honor of the victims of 9/11.
