Photos: Rall Students Recognized for Earth Day Posters

Three William Rall Elementary School students are recognized by Senator Fuschillo for their poster submissions in the 2013 New York State Senate Earth Day Photo Contest.

Posters from William Rall Elementary School entered in the 2013 New York State Senate Earth Day Poster Contest received congratulations from Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick).

The New York State senator in a release on Earth Day, April 22, and online here his congratulated "all of the local students who helped raise awareness about environmental protection" by submitting entries to the Contest.

The Rall students who submitted posters and were congratulated by Fuschillo were:

According to Fuschillo, the contest is an annual event for children in grades kindergarten to sixth grade.

Children create posters "to raise awareness about how reducing, reusing, and recycling can help protect our environment and our planet," Fuschillo said.

“Each of the students who participated in this contest submitted an outstanding and creative poster which illustrated the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. They should be very proud of the job they did in helping to reinforce the steps everyone can take to protect our environment,” the senator said in the release.

Online he added, "Congratulations to all of the participants in this year’s Contest, as well as to all of the parents and teachers who helped encourage, support and guide these students with their projects."

Each of the students’ posters - which also included those from students in Copiague, Farmingdale, Massapequa, Merrick, Bellmore and Roosevelt from District Eight - that were submitted as part of the Earth Day Poster Contest could also be viewed online by clicking here.
