View & Share: Senior Awards 2012 Photo Highlights

Take a peek through the Lindy Lens at highlights of this year's Senior Awards at Lindenhurst High School, and share your photos of the event.

Soon-to-be in the turned out in force for this year's Senior Awards at the .

As in years many awards, honors and scholarships were given out from local Lindenhurst organizations, including the and PTSA, civic associations, the , the , , , fire department and and , to name a few.

There were also many awards given for outstanding achievement in various areas of study given by the district, as well as those from local government officials and agencies.

The Presidential Award for Academic Excellence was the most presented award during the ceremony in the LHS auditorium.

Students receiving this award from the President of the United States must maintain an unweighted average of 90 percent or better and have a combined SAT score in the 85th percentile or higher in math and reading.

Senior John Rinaldi, ranked first among students in his class, was named valedictorian. Raymond Kelly was named class salutatorian.

The rest of the top 20 students in the Class of 2012 included Colleen Ames, Ajsha Mekulovic, Amanda Armbruster, Alissa Montalbano, Emily Crichton, Priscilla Morelli, Joseph Curry, Cassandra O'Connor, Alissa Eckert, Allison Perna, Briana Iannacci, Cassandra Price, Kerri Keeler, Michael Rinaldi, Luke Konopka, Danielle Vozzo, James Lynn and Adam Wawro.

Two awards for peer leadership were also given. The Kelly McNulty Scholarship for Peer Leadership went to Alexandra Weidtman, and the Outstanding Peer Leadership Award went to Brian Williams.

What age group are these homemakers? My mom just recently moved into my house in Lindenhurst and IRead More would love for her to keep busy, make friends and enjoy herself. she is not very crafty, but would like to get involved in other things if available.
