Sunset Drumming Circle at Venetian Shores Beach

 ,   Add to calendar
 Lindenhurst  See map

This is the second season of the drumming circle at Venetian Shores Beach.  Last season was incredible and it attracted many people from all over Long Island.

Every Saturday night beginning an hour before sunset, people begin descending onto the circle drawn in the sand and you know they are coming to drum as you witness people carrying a variety of drums with them - mostly W. African djembe drums, bongos, tom drums, and an assortment of percussives such as tambourines, maracas, and more.  There's hula hooping, dancing, and singing. A fun time for all to be had.

It's easier to drum using a beach chair but others bring blankets.  Sitting next to the Great South Bay under the stars with lovely friendly people is an enjoyable way to spend a Saturday night.  Why sit home?  Come out and join us.  It's a safe place to bring family and children, and if you are alone, come feel the sense of community and friendship with us and speak through the collective voice of the drums.  We hope to see you down at the beach.  If you need help getting your chair or drum to the circle, please email, and someone will arrange to be there to assist you. Clean bathrooms very close by and Beach Hut Restaurant has great food at good prices.  Make it a fun family night at Venetian Shores.  Lindenhurst has been re-vitalized with this very popular, ever growing activity that is being seen all over Long Island.

At the Drumming Circle at Venetian Shores Beach we are

Always Free ~ Always Welcoming.

Hope to see you down at the drum circle.

I had to comment. Although I am not in the market for a rocker I had to send my condolences to youRead More and your family. That must have been hard not to have received his rocker in time for him to enjoy it. I will pass the word around and hopefully you will find a buyer soon.

Hi Lindy Native. Thanks for posting these photos. But could you e-mail me at barbara.loehr@patch.comRead More with the originals and some more details? The photos you posted are really blurry/bitmapped. I think if you send the originals and some more info, then a story could be put together for the news section of the site. Thanks!
