POLL, PICTURES: Yankees Start Playoff Run

Area residents celebrate the team's latest postseason appearance by sending Patch their pictures from the House that George Built.

The New York Yankees begin their quest for a 28th World Series title Friday night when they host the Detroit Tigers.

It won't be easy for New York, which faces Detroit ace pitcher Justin Verlander in the first game.

Fans throughout the region seemed confident, however, and celebrated the second season by sending Patch their personal photos from Yankee Stadium.

Enjoy the photo gallery to the right. If you want to add a picture, no worries -

Also, if you'd like, leave a comment. We'd like to know what your favorite Yankee Stadium memory is.

And while you're at it, take two seconds and vote in our poll directly below.

While I may be rooting against the Yankees more than anyone else in the world, I have a feeling Burnett is going to be on his game tonight. I sure hope I am wrong.
