Blood Drive Set at St. John's

The Lindenhurst church will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive later this September.

Lindenhurst is full of ways to give back, and is providing yet another way.

The church, located at 36 East John Street, will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, September 24.

This effort is being sponsored by Saint John’s “as there's a grave shortage of whole blood at this time,” said Grace Sougstad, chairwoman for the blood drive.

The blood drive will be held in Haegert Hall of the church, which is on the second floor of the educational wing (elevator accessible), using the Dover Street entrance.

And it'll run from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. that day.

Anyone 18 years old and older, or 16 and 17 year olds with signed parental consent is welcome and encouraged to donate blood at this event.

To sign up please call in advance to the church's office at 631-226-1274 or call Grace Sougstad at 631-888-8548. Walk-ins without advance sign-ups are also welcome.

For further information or directions, residents could contact the Saint John’s Church office at 631-226-1274.

I had to comment. Although I am not in the market for a rocker I had to send my condolences to youRead More and your family. That must have been hard not to have received his rocker in time for him to enjoy it. I will pass the word around and hopefully you will find a buyer soon.

Hi Lindy Native. Thanks for posting these photos. But could you e-mail me at barbara.loehr@patch.comRead More with the originals and some more details? The photos you posted are really blurry/bitmapped. I think if you send the originals and some more info, then a story could be put together for the news section of the site. Thanks!
