Trio of Lindenhurst HS Seniors Sign Letters of Intent

 seniors , and Nicholas Doran have signed letters of intent for academic and athletic basketball and lacrosse scholarships.

will attend Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York, on a scholarship. Cropsey and Doran will attend Adelphi University in Garden City where they'll continue their lacrosse careers at the collegiate level.

The trio of Lindy athletes were joined at the recent signing by their coaches, Superintendent Richard Nathan, LHS Principal Dan Giordano and Lindenhurst Schools Athletic Director Anthony Amesti.

Ames, Cropsey and Doran weren't the only athletes being honored, as of late, not only for their athletic achievements, but also for their academic achievements.

In fact, Lindenhurst had quite a few sports teams and athletes named as Fall Scholar-Athlete Teams this year by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

These teams have met the criteria for a designated number of athletes within each sport, and maintained an overall unweighted GPA of 90 or higher for the 2011 Fall season.

“These recognitions are a tremendous credit to the hard work and dedication of our student athletes, their parents and high school administration and staff, as well as our Lindenhurst coaches,” Amesti said.
